Louise studied Fine Art then contemporary dance in London at the prestigious Laban Dance School and after a short period as a professional dancer, returned to image making. This history in art and choreography, working with pattern and composition has helped shape her unique signature style.
All designs start life as hand drawn illustrations painted by Louise with very little technical tampering from start to finish giving the finished designs the freshness of the original artwork. All the elegant patterns are created at the Bath studios, fabrics are digitally printed at the Glasgow School of Art and products made to order locally by highly skilled crafts people.
“I am originally from Glasgow and I like maintaining those strong ties. Not only does the art school there produce the finest digitally printed fabrics in Britain, but also because I feel connected to the city’s design heritage. Rennie Mackintosh remains a strong inspiration in my work.
I have always been fascinated by art and design stories with drama, strong themes, bold colour contrasts and with a dash of the Gothic. All of these ingredients go into the designs I love to create, individual designs which offer something really different. Customers tell me that our accessories bring a bit of glamour and drama into their homes and that’s exciting.’’
