The Art Studio is an absolutely amazing place and Emma is a charming host. She is so talented and her works are fabulous. She conquers hearts with the way she makes people feel welcome in her creative space. Simona Carmen Dec 21

Several of Emma’s beautiful originals and prints have adorned our home for many years, so earlier this year I asked Emma to work on a commission for my partner’s 40th birthday. Emma understood my brief immediately and developed a canvas of ecstatic colour and meaning.  Emma took the words and memories that I shared for the development of the piece, and was able convey their resonance while bringing in so much of her own mastery, perspective and character. I remain astounded by the finished work and, most importantly, so does my partner. I knew Emma would create something very special but I confess I didn’t know just how much we would come to love the work until it arrived. Emma’s client service is also impeccable. The process was easy, fun, and entirely literate. Emma’s work is, in its own right, beautiful and commanding. But what her art brings to a space – a home – is extraordinary. I am proud and glad beyond measure that I went through this process with her.

“At SHH Architecture and Interiors we have had the real pleasure of working with Emma Rose on a number of our projects. Versatile and incredibly creative, Emma is quick to understand the brief and always produces wonderful pieces on time that beautifully complement our designs. Our clients have been so pleased with their commissioned art from Emma and have fully appreciated how they have helped to bring our schemes to life.
An great example of Emma’s work is hanging in a newly refurbished Grade 1 Listed property in Belgravia, London. SHH commissioned Emma to create a stunning artwork that accentuated the focal point of the original Regency fireplace within a fabulous study.
We are incredibly proud to have Emma as one of our listed artists within this award winning project and look forward to being able to work with her again.”

“We have always had traditional furniture and paintings and lived in an old listed house.  Five years ago we moved to a more contemporary home and gradually our tastes have changed and we began to look to mix modern with traditional furniture and paintings.  We had lots of empty wall space and began looking for a local artist who might be able to help us.  We came across Emma, first via Google (local artists near me!) and then through the Bath Life magazine.  Having made contact, Emma invited us to her studio and we absolutely loved her work and she was so warm and welcoming, giving us her time and ideas.  She offered to come to our house bringing with her some work that we particularly liked. When she came, our vision of what we were doing expanded!  She looked with a fresh and artistic eye at our home and made some exciting suggestions to move things on our walls around to make the most of them and give new life to what was familiar to us. She brought cushions too, to show us the impact they could have brightening the room and tying colours together. We bought enough of her works (including the cushions) to make a big impact on our home but that was not all.  The impact went far beyond the pieces themselves – old familiar pieces were moved out of dark corners and lit in different ways and we’ve moved furniture too, so that it’s almost as though we have a new and revitalised home.  We are thrilled with the result and are so looking forward to showing Emma the final result.  She has been so lovely to experiment and explore with.  With her help we have experienced an opening up of new possibilities and a renewed appreciation of what we already have. If you work with her you will get so much more than beautiful paintings and it will be good!” Mr & Mrs D Wicks 2021

I have had the pleasure of meeting Emma in her beautiful studio and she was so welcoming and spent so much time helping me decide which of her beautiful pictures I should buy. Emma’s art is amazing and the colours are magical and inspirational. Emma caters for every budget and the only problem I had was deciding what to buy as I loved all of it. If you are looking for a statement piece of art for your wall then definitely contact Emma and you are sure to find something you fall in love with. Thank you Emma. Lisa P 2021

Emma cane into my life quite by chance! I’d just opened my new clinic and the walls were bare. I sent my Mother along to Widcombe Art Trail (I was away) , she came home buzzing about this lovely artist she’d met, and the next thing I knew, Emma was in my clinic, full of ideas and armed with a tape measure. From there we went to her beautiful art studio and I literally fell in love. Her art is sensational- full of colour and joy. I bought four gorgeous pictures and I can’t tell you how much pleasure they give me, every time I look at them. Emma was fantastic through out the process- her eye for detail and interior design flare were a huge bonus and visiting her studio is a very special experience. She is also very organised and efficient. She then helped me curate my Opening, placing cushions, bringing extra artwork in and organising the press and publicity. My new business is already booming and everyone comments on the incredible artwork in my Surgery. Dr Lucy Middlefell of Dr Lucy Facial Anesthetics 2021

"Your cushions look really great, and make it a very easy decision to support local artisans rather global Amazons. Credit to you too for the environmentally friendly packaging which simply adds to the feel-good factor of buying from you. And very impressive website functionality too – so buying from you really is the full package. Bravo!" Mr C Maddren (2021)

“We met Emma at one of her London exhibitions and fell in love with her artwork straight away. We took an instant shine to a certain painting, but we felt it wasn’t quite the right size - so instead of buying it we started talking about commissioning something similar.Emma was able to come round to our house, and helped us think through what we wanted - the size, colours and she had some great ideas...but most importantly - she really listened to us. So with confidence we commissioned her to create a bespoke piece of art for our living room - based on the original painting, but with our own twist on tones and textures, with some additions and subtractions. The whole process was simple, fun and we really appreciated and enjoyed the fact that Emma kept us up to date throughout it all. The final piece was hand delivered back to us by Emma herself and we were delighted. It was exactly what we had hoped for and we cannot imagine our living room without it. We love it Thank you Emma for making the process so seamless. We will be back. Mr&Mrs CD 2019.

*** Subsequently we have visited Emma’s studio near Bath and commissioned a large canvas print from her, which is absolutely perfect, again an easy and enjoyable process. Her studio is fascinating and nothing is too much trouble for her. We shall look forward to her next London show post-lockdown. 2021***

"Emma was delightful throughout the process of us purchasing our beautiful canvas print. She kept us up-to-date regularly and even sent us a photo of the picture just prior to dispatch. The canvas print was really excellent quality and we would thoroughly recommend her. We look forward to buying further art from Emma in the future." Mr A S (2021)

"After about 3 years of thinking about commissioning a painting from Emma we finally went for it last month. I now have a beautiful, personal and unique painting that is the star of my sitting room. We discussed the subject (a particular place near where I grew up), compiled photos and Emma visited us at home to get a sense of the room and us. The rest I left to Emma. I trusted her to create something magical, which she did. The final painting somehow combines everything I love about the place it is based on - not just how it looks but how it makes me feel when I am there. All the family love it and I know it will become part of the fabric of "Home”."
-Mr & Mrs Lowther December (2020)

“We are bowled over how fundamentally your painting has changed our room, and somehow our life. Our home now feels full of life, the myriad of colours charge us with energy and hope. Thank you so much. This is the first of many."
-Mr & Mrs T (2020)

“We saw your work at the Bath Art Fair just before the virus hit our shores. We thought for a while, then plumped for 3 of your paintings. You have completely brightened our lockdown.”
-Family P (2020)

"We have admired your paintings for years, but it has been covid that made us realise how important life, our home and beauty are. We are now the ecstatic owners of two large original paintings. Both bought from Emma's studio gallery - one of the paintings she kindly changed for us, at no extra charge, to make sure the colour matched perfectly with our wall colours. The work looks like they were meant to be. We are thrilled. Every day it gives us great pleasure to see the paintings. Colourful and luxurious. Full of energy, hope and happiness. Like Emma. We would highly recommend visiting Emma and buying her work. It has brought life into our house."
-Mr & Mrs R-V (2020)

"I had no idea a canvas print could look so realistic and professional. Ordered one from Emma, was bowled over, so have now ordered 4 more! Thank you for being so efficient, full of colour ideas and thoughfulness. Our home is transfromed.”
-Mr C Browning (2020)

“Our commission is the apple of our eyes. Didn’t think it would be so easy and fun. Highly recommend anyone to talk to Emma. She has an instinct for colour and what will work. She is very straightforward and trustworthy. Thank you so much.”
-EJ & WB (2019)

"Having just finished a major refurbishment of our house, we had an urge to treat ourselves to a statement piece of art - as our ‘cherry on the cake’.
However, as we had never previously commissioned a painting, we didn’t really know how to go about it and were nervous about the process, especially given the vagueness of our brief. Frankly, we were also worried whether the result would be worth the effort, anxiety and expense (vs buying a known entity ‘off the shelf’).
We needn’t have worried because, from the moment Emma breezed into our house, the whole process was both easy and very enjoyable. And we now have a stunning and unique piece of art that ‘belongs’ in the house and we feel we truly ‘own’, not least because we played a part in its creation.
The bones of the process were simple: firstly we took some time to look at Emma’s on-line gallery and identified a range of paintings which we particularly liked (eg colours and mood) and some that weren’t what we wanted (eg too abstract for us). Emma then visited us, took in the house, the room, the space it was intended for and our general tastes. We then discussed the brief in broad terms eg likes / dislikes? general theme / mood? how abstract? key colour spectrum? amount of texture? [NB Sometimes just knowing what you don’t want is as important as knowing what you do want, because she can help a lot with the latter].
Not long afterwards, Emma invited us to visit her studio to see work in progress and give our input. Emma made this part of the process particularly easy by encouraging critique and initially absenting herself from the studio, so we could discuss our first impressions and thoughts openly with each other. Thereafter, she was not remotely precious and responded to our often vague feelings (“Not sure, but what about a bit more of X ” or “Can it be more ‘moody’?” etc) with understanding and alacrity - sometimes starting the changes there and then in front of our fearful eyes (because we already loved it and feared our suggestions might ruin it!). But, as Emma constantly reassured us, everything could be changed as often as we wanted until we were completely happy.
A good analogy is buying an ‘off the peg’ item of clothing vs something tailor made. In the right hands, the process of selecting the material / style / cut etc and being fitted for the latter provides a real sense of personalisation and luxury. The result is then always treasured more, lasts longer and ends up being far better value for money.
So, in summary, we suppose we are saying that as a painter Emma makes a very good tailor!"

"Having known Emma for more than thirty years I've watched her develop into an artist of tremendous sensitivity and depth; raw talent, realised in stunning works of bold and vivid beauty."
-Hugh Bonneville

"Emma you were a complete joy to work with – and extremely patient with me when I was struggling to articulate the brief! The finished pieces were both exactly what we were looking for (in terms of colour, and shading and abstract, and so on) and also a wonderful surprise where you’d incorporated movement and texture and other details that make the pieces so interesting. You attended every meeting with fresh ideas and good cheer. You delivered the work exactly on time and in person. You have marketed on our behalf and we are very grateful and impressed?”
Naomi Pound - Chief Designer for Kersfield Properties

““Emma is a delight to work with. She’s incredibly organised, efficient and her enthusiasm is so infectious. Her publicity skills are superb and is continually on the ball and very proactive. Loved working with her”  Emma Taylor/The Art Bar Unwrapped Exhibition.
